Position Overview:

Monday to Friday Operation
Hours: 6.00-2.30pm

The Trade Assistant is responsible for supporting site operations by performing general maintenance, cleaning, and labouring tasks. This role includes site cleanup, assisting with minor maintenance work, sorting and recycling materials, and operating equipment such as sweepers and forklifts (if licensed). The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to follow instructions in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general labouring and site maintenance tasks.
• Assist with cleaning and organising work areas, including sorting and recycling materials.
• Operate and maintain basic tools and equipment, including sweepers and forklifts (if licensed).
• Support tradespeople with general site duties as required.
• Ensure safe handling of materials and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting, moving, and stacking materials.
• Follow company safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Previous experience in a similar role (labouring, maintenance, or site support).
• Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to perform manual work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• White Card (if required for site work).

Work Conditions:

• Manufacturing environment with a mix of indoor and outdoor work.
• Some lifting and manual handling required.
• Work may involve operating machinery, requiring compliance with PPE and safety regulations.
