Job Title: Production Operator / Forklift Operator
Location: Somersby
Salary: $37.10 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Afternoon Shift (4:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
PPE Requirements: Long sleeve high visibility shirt and long sleeve pants with reflective tape

About the Role:
A prominent company in the concrete industry is seeking a Production Operator/Forklift Operator for their Somersby location. This role involves 50% production labor and 50% forklift operation in a very dusty environment. You will play an essential role in safely and efficiently producing steel-reinforced concrete pipes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily pre-start checks on equipment to ensure it is safe for operation.
  • Prepare tools and equipment (ladders, stencils, paint, trowels, etc.) for production tasks.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move pipes, reinforcement cages, and materials.
  • Open moulds, remove finished pipes, and prepare them for the next production cycle.
  • Monitor pipe quality and address any defects or issues that arise.
  • Apply appropriate labels, patch, and clean pipes as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production environment.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and report defects to the Supervisor.
  • Work outside of normal hours as required, including weekends and holidays.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in concrete pipe production, steel cages, or related industries (manufacturing, civil, or building).
  • Strong focus on safety and housekeeping.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to obtain relevant certifications (company-paid training available).

Qualifications:

  • Current Driver's License.
  • Forklift License (required).
  • Own vehicle (preferred).
  • EWP (advantageous, but not essential).
  • Confined Space (advantageous, but not essential).
