Job description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operator / Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of steel-reinforced concrete pipes, ensuring high-quality standards and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily pre-start checks on equipment to ensure readiness for production.
Prepare necessary equipment such as ladders, stencils, paint, trowels, etc., for the day's tasks.
Operate a forklift to move pipes, reinforcement cages, and other materials within the production area.
Open moulds, remove finished pipes, and prepare moulds for the next production cycle.
Monitor the quality of pipes and resolve any issues that arise.
Apply appropriate labels and perform finishing tasks, such as patching and cleaning pipes.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
Maintain a tidy and safe production environment.
Assist with maintenance tasks and report any equipment issues to maintenance and your Supervisor.
Effectively communicate with team members and report any defects or safety concerns.
Be prepared to work outside of normal hours, including weekends and holidays, when required.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in concrete pipe production, steel cages, or related manufacturing, civil, or building industries is highly desirable.
Strong commitment to safety and attention to cleanliness and housekeeping.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Willingness to undergo relevant certifications (company-paid courses).
Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License.
Forklift License (mandatory).
Own vehicle (preferred).
EWP (Elevated Work Platform) certification (advantageous but not essential).
Confined Space certification (advantageous but not essential).
Personal Attributes:
Reliable with a strong sense of accountability for actions and work quality.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Strong perseverance, resilience, and ability to meet production demands.
Physical capability to perform tasks required for the role.
