Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and highly motivated Despatch Storeman / Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe management of our despatch area, including the picking, packing, and dispatching of goods. You will also be responsible for delivering goods to major customers, operating a forklift, and maintaining accurate records. You will be expected to learn and utilize our systems for export documentation and courier booking.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Despatch and Warehousing:
    • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch.
    • Load and unload trucks, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
    • Operate a reach forklift to move and organize stock within the warehouse.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the despatch area.
    • Utilize RF scanners to accurately track inventory and process orders.
    • Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
    • Be able to manually lift up to 15kg.

  • Driving and Delivery:
    • Deliver goods to major customers in a timely and safe manner.
    • Operate a manual vehicle responsibly and in accordance with all traffic laws.
    • Maintain the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition.
    • Ensure the safe and secure transportation of goods.

  • Documentation and Administration:
    • Run manifests and complete end-of-day procedures accurately.
    • Learn to input data for export documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
    • Learn to use DHL systems for shipping and tracking.
    • Book couriers and transport services effectively and efficiently.
    • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and dispatches.

  • Systems and Technology:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills.
    • Quickly learn and adapt to new software and technology.
    • Utilize RF scanning equipment for inventory management.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Essential:
    • Current and valid manual car driver's license.
    • Current Forklift License and experience operating a reach forklift.
    • Experience using RF scanning equipment.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 15kg.
    • Good computer skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Reliable and punctual.

  • Desirable:
    • Experience with export documentation processes.
    • Experience with DHL or other courier booking systems.
    • Previous experience in a despatch or warehousing environment.
