About my client:
This role is with a leading Open Cut coal mining operation located just 16 kilometers west of Singleton, NSW.
The Role:
As a Safety Coordinator, you will be a key player in shaping the safety culture at their mining operations. This role is ideal for someone who embraces a contemporary approach to safety and values diversity and inclusion.
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, your role will involve:
- Driving safety initiatives: Implement proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensuring compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, keeping everything up to industry standards.
- Preparing for the unexpected: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for a wide range of scenarios.
- Leading the charge in investigations: Analyse incidents, uncover root causes, and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences.
About You:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Solid credentials: Qualifications in Work Health & Safety (Diploma and/or Degree in OHS preferred).
- Industry expertise: Mining experience will be advantageous and a big plus.
- In-depth knowledge: A thorough understanding of NSW WHS legislation.
- Proven track record: Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing safety systems.
- Sharp analytical skills: Ability to solve problems and drive meaningful improvements.
- Versatility under pressure: Capable of navigating complex issues and managing competing priorities with ease.
- Leadership in action: Strong relationship-building skills and experience leading incident investigations.
