Safesearch have proudly partnered with Amcor to find a site-based Safety Advisor for their Christchurch site.

As a key member of the Health and Safety team and reporting directly to the ANZ Safety Environment Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Safety Advisor to work alongside a high performing team, supporting Site leaders to develop and foster a healthy and pro-active safety culture.

Key Aspects of the role:

  • Partner with line management to increase their understanding and delivery of their responsibilities for health, safety, wellbeing, injury prevention, risk reduction & environmental impact
  • Promoting safe working behaviour, mitigating risk to employees' general safety & wellbeing
  • Contribute to the development and planning of annual HSE plans, ensuring site high/ critical risks, regulatory and stakeholder requirements are met
  • Co-ordinate hazard/ risk management & tracking/ reporting systems; ensure risk registers are current and reviewed regularly
  • Provide regular reports on the status of Risk Management to the ANZ Leadership teams
  • Undertake risk assessments/audits/incident investigations as required
  • Continual improvement of Primary procedures and Safety Management Systems
  • Developing training packages and toolbox talks for both the delivery and foundation for operational safety teams to utilise


The ideal applicant will bring experience & confidence within a safety role in an industrial environment, preferably with onsite experience in manufacturing.

About You:

  • Hold a minimum Diploma in WHS with desired qualifications in Training & Assessment
  • Experience undertaking incident investigations and audits
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to train, influence and motivate others
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety legislation & requirements
  • Proven experience leading onsite safety culture
  • Tech savvy and process oriented with the ability to adapt to new systems easily
  • Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
