Reporting directly to the QHSE Manager, this position will see you collaborating with the production and engineering departments to manage, improve and optimise the technical aspects of Quality Control (QC) activities including the techniques and processes involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day activities of QC Officers and provide direction and support
  • Ensure that product quality meets specified and implied specifications in line with company requirements
  • Improve the outcomes for Production through investigations and recommending, directing and/or undertaking improvement activities
  • Auditing of management systems and business processes
  • Providing awareness and training to Sicame personnel in QC-related inspection and testing activities as may be needed
  • Supporting the Quality/Environment Manager with the maintenance and improvement of the management systems and other activities as required
  • Support education and training with respect to product and process improvement
  • Proactively promoting safe systems of work and safety initiatives

The ideal candidate is a team player with current or recent quality Control (QC) experience in a manufacturing environment with Lean Six Sigma training to at least green-belt level (preferably black-belt level).

Including:

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge/experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO9001)
  • Some exposure to/knowledge of WHS & environmental management
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including experience supervising a small team
  • Basic (or better) statistical analysis knowledge/skills
