Job description

DFAT has a requirement for a Personnel Security Vetting Officer (LES) to support DFAT's security clearance processes, with duties including.

  • Assess information from various sources, undertake research and conduct interviews including security assessment interviews at NV2 level.
  • Perform detailed analysis and assessment, and prepare recommendations in high-level written report form.
  • Providing policy and related procedural advice regarding security clearance requirements as outlined in the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework and the DFAT Security Framework.
  • Undertaking a variety of administrative duties to support DFAT's security clearance processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the performance and quality of the department's approach to vetting assessments, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency and rigour of the section's procedures for conducting security vetting and providing advice on security vetting matters.


Qualifications
Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security) and knowledge of the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework.

  • Experience working in Government or a similar high-security environment.
  • Experience in Quality assurance or training in a security vetting environment.
