Job description

Our client delivers cultural education, career planning, training, employment, and workplace mentoring services to Aboriginal young people and involves employers and industry groups in providing vocational pathways.

This position is for planning, developing, operating, and managing programs and the products and services offered to individuals, schools, community groups, businesses and the general public.

Job Description:
The position manages grant funded and fee-for-service activities and initiates services in collaboration with management, including meeting or exceeding existing KPIs and setting additional targets/outcomes to be achieved. The position is responsible for the supervision of employees, volunteers and services to participants.
This position directly supervises the coordinator - Indigenous Skills & Employment, works collaboratively with the Senior Management Team and reports to the General Manager or in his/her absence the relevant manager overseeing supervision of this role.

Tasks to be performed:

  • Set performance requirements in collaboration with senior management, meet or exceed KPIs and reporting requirements, and ensure associated deadlines and outcomes are met within strict time frames.
  • Support staff and volunteers in meeting their requirements.
  • Ensure service to participants is aligned to contract deliverable.
  • Monitor financial performance and budget constraints to ensure that funds are properly acquitted and overspends, or funding anomalies do not occur.
  • Manage the booking and scheduling of jobs to ensure customer service standards are met, and conflicts with grant funded activities are managed appropriately.
  • Provide input to fee schedules and pricing to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Oversee office matters such as IT and telecommunications, office supplies, insurances, policies & procedures and other administrative issues.
  • Prepare reports on the achievement of financial and operational KPIs associated with both grants funded and fee-for-service activities.
  • Assist to expand income streams with grants and fee-for-service opportunities.
  • Develop resources and program material.

Requirements:

  • Lead, manage and implement skills and employment programs underpinned by connection to Aboriginal culture.
  • The role is based in Gosford NSW and requires travel across the region (company vehicle provided for use).
  • Current Driver's license.
  • WWCC and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Qualifications and/or experience in management, business, industry, training, education, community and economic development.
