The role

Reporting into the APAC lead, the Legal Coordinator / Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the sales team and local management on a range of contract development, implementation and development matters.

You will be tasked with the following duties:

  • Providing sound and commercially considered support on regulatory legal matters arising across the business
  • Supporting the the team to ensure close engagement with stakeholders
  • Operational, legal and regulatory risks are identified
  • Handling complaints and escalations
  • Supporting sales teams in their contract process, including;
    • Ensure required steps and sign-offs are followed
    • Reviewing general terms and contracts
    • Reviewing tenders
    • Managing non-disclosure agreements and other commercial documents
  • Further duties may include tasks within other regulatory or financial areas, such as Export Control, Bank Guarantees, Insurance or Data Privacy.

About You

To be considered for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating terms of complex contracts, or a Bachelor's degree in Law with relevant PQE
  • Preferred experience within an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) environment, other technical/industrial company
  • Extensive knowledge of Australia and/ or New Zealand contracts and law
  • Some in-house experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in contract management in Australia and/or New Zealand
  • The ability to offer pragmatic advice
  • Delivering straightforward solutions to a variety of legal challenges
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong process and analytical skills
  • A keen eye for detail
