Job description
We are now seeking a Claim Coordinator for our state government client to commence an initial 6 month contract with a possible extension.
Please note: Applicants must be Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or hold a valid work permit or visa.
The preferred candidate will be required to undergo security checks such as a police record check.
We are looking for an immediate start.

Key accountabilities
- Confidently understand and apply Return To Work program objectives across administrative and service delivery tasks including but not limited to, database management, claim lodgement files, calculation of Pre-Injury Average Weekly Income, compensation payments and reporting and compensation agent liaison
- Prepare briefs on sensitive issues for consideration by internal and external stakeholders and is consistent with client assessments, financial reconciliation reports, claims management documentation for response to serious injury and employee health and safety
- Communicate professional and related technical advice to staff, peers, managers and providers using the appropriate medium for communication and addressing the needs of different audiences and different situations
- Under direction, prepare complex reports requiring in-depth factual analysis of RTW measures, activities and relevant expenditure
- Provide input into the development, implementation, evaluation and review of Injury & Claims Management policy and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and continue to meet program and legislative requirements
- Participate in safety culture change initiatives and projects as required to improve processes for Injury & Claims Management practices
- Work collaboratively across People & Culture Departments - People Services and Health & Safety to assist with Health & Safety processes, including the execution of education packages to improve the application of WorkCover management processes
Key selection criteria
QUALIFICATION
- Completion of relevant industry certification in Financial Services or Personal Injury Management.
- Subsequent experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience working within the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in the administration of WorkCover claim lodgment inclusive of initial and ongoing pay calculations.
- Working knowledge of worker's compensation legislation & relevant practices.
- Proven experience in using computerised claims management, financial and management information systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
- Required to possess a current Victorian Driver License.
- Must be able to attend the office for induction and training.
