Manpower is partnered with a leading global Energy Solutions organisation as they look for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team. Working in a manufacturing setting with corporate offices, the site is based 45 minutes out of the city in the North East, the organisation is easily accessible by car or by public transport.
The role
Reporting into Project Lead, the Senior Project Engineer will sit within the High Voltage project team working on Switchgear and SCADA projects - design, review, testing to commissioning.
You will be tasked with the following duties:
- Conducts electrical design, reviews, approvals, testing and commissioning.
- Support and coordinate drafting and site installations
- Preparation of project documentation
- Assisting team members on technical quality issues
- Providing internal support and expertise as required
- Assist with proposals and presentation of engineering projects and programs (bill of materials, estimated engineering hours, manpower required etc)
- Support the Contract Managers in issuing claims
- Provide cost effective quality solutions to meet their clients requirement, delivering to budget and schedule
- Ensure safety standards are met as well as heading off potential risks
- Create work plans and cost estimates
- Complete risk and opportunity assessments
- Report any contract, quality, program or cost issues to the Project Lead
- Managing key internal and external stakeholders including key clients
- Attend project meetings and presenting updates on engineering assignments
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team for equipment and services
- Provides technical evaluation of supplier proposals
- Ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations
- Look for process and efficiency improvements
- Coach and provide support and technical advice to colleagues
- Assign tasks for; engineers, technicians and administrative staff
- Lead the projects team where necessary
To be considered for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years industry experience in High Voltage equipment and in power substations
- Experience in providing engineering advice and support including development, design coordination, safety, testing and commissioning and applying engineering quality.
- Experienced with implementing relevant standards such as Australian Engineering and Technical standards (AS/IEC)
- Able to draft and read drawings
