Job description

Manpower Professional is working with a client located in beautiful Townsville! We are looking for a talented Junior Procurement Officer to be a part of a great organisation, and you will be in a role that will be supported by a team that wants to see you succeed.

You will have a natural ability with numbers and you are meticulous with your attention to detail, ideally you will have previous experience in purchasing and/or supply. Experience with a Materials Management System is also highly desirable but not essential.

You have effective negotiating skills, you will have the maturity to be able to work unsupervised and are proficient with Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel and Word.


You demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to your work, and you will fit well with the team as you will support each other to ensure the work and team objectives are met. You will have strong interpersonal and time management skills, and an ability to take accountability for work performance will ensure your success in this position.


About the position


Reporting to the Procurement Supervisor, you will be involved in the quotation and purchasing of goods and services. As part of your duties, you will negotiate with suppliers, expedite orders and authorise invoices for payment.

This position is a part of a dynamic team and therefore good communication, cooperation and record keeping are essential.

This will be an initial 12 month fixed term contract and has the possibility of going permanent and working rights in Australia is mandatory.
