About the Role:
This position is for a well known Engineering company (Steel fabrication and erection specialist) based in Adelaide, operating within both commercial and residential sectors. The company has a long-established history, having completed thousands of projects and built strong relationships with clients. A focus on teamwork, engagement, ownership, and support is essential for achieving quality objectives.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and Supervision
- Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of estimating.
- Responsible for the efficient and productive Estimation of Structural Steel.
- Promote and quote Structural Steel products and services that they offer
- Co-ordinate, establish and monitor steel quotes
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Structural Steel Strategies
- Assist in the development and monitoring of Structural steel budgets
- Liaise between clients and workshop for job amendments, progress, scheduling, etc.
- Measure and provide quotations and consultation for Structural Steel products and services
- Negotiate and follow-up with clients, builders, engineers, architects and drafting on quotations and specifications
- Liaise with customers and Management regarding:
- Quotes
- Orders Pricing
- Re pricing
- Amendments to drawings
- Variations
- Budgets
- Provide estimations and quotations for steel lintels
- Responsible for estimating Variation Order (VO's) for the Project Managers
- Process structural steel quotes into orders
- Produce and maintain statistics on structural steel quotations
- Phone sales and service
- Identify and raise Improvement Notices
- Implementation of corrective actions

- Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
- Participate in organizational policies and procedures to maximise outputs.
- Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Assist Systems Manager to manage the Company's Quality Management System
- Assist Systems Manager to manage the Company's WHS system
- Work within and enforce the organizations Work Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Work within and enforce the organizations Quality Management System
Education and Experience
- 3rd Level degree in Estimating/QS/Construction (Or relevant Degree)
- Relevant experience in a similar industry (Open on years of Experience - Can be Junior/Intermediate/Senior)
- Ideally will have Steel fabrication and erection industry experience
