My client has a 6 month Fixed term Contract opportunity, commencing August 2024 for a Learning & Development Specialist to work with the Learning and Development team within the Learning and Innovation Function. This team is responsible for the provision of quality online e-learning experiences for learners and members to enable their professional and career development.

  • Reporting to the Learning and Development Lead, the L & D Specialist works closely with the Learning and Development (L&D) and Learning Design teams and is responsible for an extensive portfolio of online, virtual and workshop based learning products and learning content, including the engagement and management of subject matter experts and content providers. They will take responsibility for a range of member learning experiences, capability and content areas, to ensure the achievement of strategic targets relating to quality and commercial sustainability.
  • In addition to the development of high-quality learning experiences, a critical component of the role will be the management of each product, the overall product mix and product lifecycle, review of the external market and relevant data, and the implementation of new products and learning innovation, in response to market trends and member learning needs.
  • The incumbent will also be responsible for assisting the Learning Design and Publishing team in the delivery of key initiatives and projects as part of an integrated professional development offer.


Key Accountabilities:
Learning Experience Management
The role will be responsible for the management of an extensive portfolio of online, virtual and workshop based learning products and CPA Australia learning content.

  • Working with the L&D and Learning Design teams to source and/or develop content - leveraging client owned and/or 3rd party content/providers
  • Identifying, negotiating and briefing suppliers including subject matter experts, authors and presenters (where applicable)
  • Ensuring the content aligns with client's strategy - build their Australia members' interdisciplinary and contemporary skills to accelerate their career success, aligned to their Capability Framework and Product Strategy
  • Managing the product development process, including reviewing and editing content and assessments, and working with Learning Design to brief and review product builds and Learning Manuals.
  • Working with the Quality and Systems team to ensure quality learning experiences are deployed and evaluated
  • Working with the Marketing team to ensure quality and accurate marketing campaigns, collateral and promotions
  • Selecting the optimal delivery method per learning experience and target audience

Commercial Management

  • Actively seek out new opportunities to work with partners to provide valuable professional development to Australia members.
  • Autonomously conduct ongoing planning for the improvement and maintenance of a commercially sustainable learning offer.
  • Provide assistance to the Learning and Development Manager to effectively budget (including pricing, planning and forecasting)
  • Provide assistance to the Learning and Development Manager to achieve and maintain cost and process efficiencies.
  • Work across the Learning and Innovation Function to actively manage the links between all education products
  • Understand member needs and learner behaviours.
  • Awareness, review and evaluation of external landscape including competitors, trends in education to ensure the development of the highest quality and best practice learning experiences.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensures learning experiences are designed in accordance with best practice adult learning principles.
  • Assist in the management of implementing ISO9001 across L&D processes.
  • Ensures quality standards are upheld and monitored.
  • Ensures quality processes and systems are in place and train team and stakeholders accordingly.

Stakeholder Management
This role will manage relationships with various internal and external key stakeholders.

  • Liaise with relevant key stakeholders to identify opportunities to support and collaborate on professional development initiatives.
  • Work closely with the L & D team to implement learnings and improvements.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure adequate briefing and accurate representation of the learning products to ensure optimal marketing strategy is employed.
  • Work closely with the Learning Design team to ensure online learning products are developed and delivered to a high standard.
  • Collaborative work pertaining to the management of the L&D portfolio (e.g. budgeting, product planning)
  • Implement key learning initiatives.
  • Lead projects, as determined by the Learning and Development Manager and/or Head of Learning Design and Publishing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in business, education or accounting (strongly desirable)
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Current education or learning & development experience: knowledge of adult learning, learning design practice
