Production Forklift Operator

Location: Thornton (Outer Newcastle Area)
Salary: $33.13 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (with overtime and Saturday work available)
Employment Type: Ongoing with the potential for permanent placement within 2 months

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator/Forklift Operator to play a vital role in our team. In this position, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of steel-reinforced concrete pipes, while also operating forklifts to manage materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily pre-start checks on production equipment.
  • Prepare necessary tools and equipment for daily operations.
  • Operate forklifts to move pipes, reinforcement cages, and materials.
  • Open and prepare moulds for production, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of produced pipes, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
  • Assist with maintenance tasks and maintain cleanliness in production areas.
  • Report defects and communicate effectively with team members.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in concrete pipe production, steel cages, or related manufacturing fields is preferred.
  • Strong focus on safety and attention to housekeeping.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work outside normal hours as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Forklift License required.
  • Own vehicle preferred.
  • EWP and Confined Space certifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Must be willing to work in confined spaces
