About the role

As a Service Technician you will be an essential part of the team, carrying out all aspects of overhauling and repairs on gearboxes and power transmission equipment. This includes stripping, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and assembling units. While working within a welcoming team and upskilling, you will be expected to work with a variety of heavy industrial equipment such as lathes, presses, overhead cranes, compressors, chemicals and more. This is a dynamic role working on technically advanced units.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance, repairs and overhauling on gearboxes and power transmission equipment
  • Working collaboratively within a team, sharing knowledge and experience
  • Writing job reports and filling out necessary paperwork
  • Machining parts according to engineering drawings

Requirements:

  • Appropriate Engineering certificate or degree
  • The ability to read complex engineering drawings
  • Good industry knowledge of mining, power generation, energy or renewables
  • Experience with wind-power will be HIGHLY regarded
  • Able to work independently and in a team
